Chen awarded Student Affairs scholarship

Xiaoxuan “Lily” Chen

Xiaoxuan “Lily” Chen was awarded the Edith and Harry Darby Leadership Award from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.

Chen, an undergraduate student in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, received the award during a ceremony that took place April 11. Renee Romano, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, presented the award to Chen.

The Edith and Harry Darby Foundation was established to honor Senator and Mrs. Darby. The scholarship is part of the Student Leadership Awards and Scholarship program through Student Affairs. The program recognizes and rewards students for their contributions to the campus community as well as their commitment to academics and extracurricular involvement.

Chen is a student ambassador for the School of Chemical Sciences, professional chair for Omega Chi Epsilon, REACT board member, coordinator for Girl Scouts, an undergraduate researcher in Assistant Professor Charles Schroeder’s lab, and a tutor for the Chemical Engineering department.
