- About Us
The research programs of a large number of our faculty focus on engineering the properties of existing materials as well as design of materials with new functions. Key to this goal is the ability to understand, control and manipulate phenomena at the molecular level, and current topics of research address this challenge.
Representative examples of research in this area include design of bio-inspired materials, nanolithography, catalyst synthesis, mechanics of colloidal suspensions, engineering the stability and strength of materials by control of corrosion, and computational design of environmentally benign chemicals.
