Graduate student awarded best poster at international conference

Arnab Mukherjee, a graduate student in Assistant Professor Charles Schroeder’s research group in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, received an award based on his research. He won the Best Poster Award, known as the Biotechnology Journal Award, at the Fourth International Conference on Biomolecular Engineering in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for his poster entitled “Development of Flavin-based Fluorescent Proteins for Biological Imaging.”

Mukherjee received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He joined the Schroeder lab in 2008 after completing his master’s dissertation at the J. Craig Venter Institute at Rockville, Maryland.
