Illinois AIChE receives Outstanding Student Chapter Award

Congratulations to the University of Illinois chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers for winning an Outstanding Student Chapter Award.

The award is presented annually to student chapters that show an exceptional level of participation, enthusiasm, program quality, professionalism, and involvement in the university and community.

“The officer board, and those before us, have worked very hard to make Illinois AIChE a chapter that develops chemical engineers at the University of Illinois both personally and professionally, and we are ecstatic to be recognized for it at a national level,” said current Illinois Chapter President Ellery Marks. Senior Nick Connolly was the chapter president during the 2014-2015 academic year.

Marks will accept the award on behalf of the chapter at the 2015 AIChE Annual Student Conference in Salt Lake City in November.

“We look forward to representing the University of Illinois at the national conference this year to accept the award and look forward to bringing it home for the fourth time,” she said.
