Professor Ying Diao
Professor Ying Diao has been selected as a member of the 2023-2024 cohort for the Emerging Research Leaders (ERL) Academy. This program, hosted by the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Institute, develops leadership, management and team science skills for Illinois faculty to enhance their research excellence.
As a member of the ERL cohort, Diao will receive leadership and team science training designed to help mid-career faculty pursue large, multi-PI grants, lead campus research initiatives and enhance their research programs
Diao earned her B.S. degree at Tsinghua University (2006), and M.S. (2008) and Ph.D. (2011) degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She joined the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering faculty in 2015 where her research focuses on additive manufacturing and non-equilibrium assembly of functional polymers for energy and sustainability.
