Professor Sara Pedron Haba has been invited to join the Women in Cancer Research Council (WICR) for the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR). AACR-WICR is dedicated to achieving full participation of women in cancer research by increasing the visibility of women in the cancer research field, recognizing their scientific achievements, fostering their career development, and promoting the advancement of their careers through all stages. Pedron Haba will serve on the Council for the 2023-2026 term.
Pedron Haba joined the ChBE faculty in 2019, where her research focuses on developing biomaterial-based platforms that recreate brain physiology to better understand neurological diseases and enhance the available treatment options. As of 2021, Pedron Haba is also a Carle Illinois College of Medicine professor.
