Loeblich was honored with the Most Valuable Undergraduate Student award at the 2013 Research Park intern awards that took place August 1. This summer he was an intern at Dioxide Materials, a company that develops materials for carbon dioxide sensing and remediation including developing carbon monoxide sensors that allow a building’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to use less energy, saving money and lowering the building’s carbon footprint.

More than 400 student interns work for Research Park tenants, gaining valuable experience while making contributions to internal corporate research and development. The Research Park at the University of Illinois provides an environment where technology-based businesses can work with faculty and students on collaborative research.
