The Grainger College of Engineering has named 12 students as 2026 Knights of St. Patrick, including Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering student Rose Henderson, in recognition of excellence in leadership, character and contributions to Grainger Engineering and their fellow students.

Henderson is a senior in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, with a minor in the Hoeft Technology & Management Program. She serves as the Internal Vice President of the AIChE student group and President of the T&M Student Organization, and is a member of the engineering fraternity Theta Tau.

Last summer, Henderson worked at the General Mills Totino's plant in Wellston, Ohio, where she will return after graduation as a Manufacturing Engineering Associate.

The Knights of St. Patrick tradition, which was founded in 1903 at the University of Missouri-Columbia, was adopted by the University of Illinois in 1950. Being inducted as a Knight of St. Patrick is considered one of the highest honors given by Grainger Engineering to students.
