The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering is pleased to celebrate the academic achievements of its students by holding convocation ceremonies.
Winter 2019 convocation
The department will hold a winter convocation ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, in Room 116 of Roger Adams Laboratory, 600 South Mathews Avenue, Urbana.

The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences will also host a winter convocation ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019.
Spring 2019 convocation
When: 10 a.m., Sunday, May 12, 2019. Doors open at 9 a.m.
Where: Tryon Festival Theatre, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, 500 South Goodwin Avenue, Urbana. The ChBE convocation ceremony will be streamed live via this URL.
Spring Convocation Speaker: Ray Mentzer. Dr. Mentzer received his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois and his MS and PhD in Chemical Engineering from Purdue. He retired from ExxonMobil in 2008 as the Global Safety, Health, Environment and Security Manager.
A reception will immediately follow the ceremony in the tent on Centennial Plaza, between Noyes Laboratory and the Chemistry Annex.

Once you’ve registered, you’ll need to do the following:
1. Report your future plans to Career Services. Fill out the section on future plans, print the confirmation page, and bring or send it to the ChBE undergraduate program office in Room 99 RAL.
2. Complete the department’s senior survey, via this link.
3. Order your cap and gown through Herff Jones. Regalia is required for the convocation ceremony. Don’t wait to order regalia; deadlines and late fees are set by the vender.

What time do I arrive and where?
Students should arrive by 9 a.m. and meet in the backstage hallway of Tryon Festival Theatre. Doors will open at 9 a.m. for family members.
Is flash photography allowed during the ceremony?
Yes, we encourage your family to take photos. They can come to the front of the stage but are not allowed on stage.
Is videorecording allowed during the ceremony?
